A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.

The win also indicates he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his ability to perform at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, he secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
